Troussas Wines Skiadopoulo 2025
This exceptional dry white wine is crafted from Skiadopoulo, the most widely planted white grape of Zakynthos, sourced from a pre-phylloxera, ungrafted, goblet-trained vineyard in the village of Machairado. Born from an exemplary collaboration between third-generation grower Dimitris Troussas and oenologist Athena Tsoli, this wine revives the authentic personality of this ancient land, protecting it from commercial tourism. Following a brief pre-fermentation maceration, the wine matures in oak barrels for 4 months and rests on its lees for an additional 2 months. In appearance, it is remarkably bright, while on the nose and palate, it beautifully balances a crisp minerality with a creamy, full-bodied character. Reflecting its terroir with superb precision, it reveals aromas of savory quince, green apple, and a distinct touch of salinity, while the harmony between its high acidity and oak-imparted spices lends it unique complexity and elegance.
