Milia Riza Wines Azzarda Extra Brut 2021

The only wine brand in Greece dedicated exclusively to the production of quality sparkling wines, was created by the oenologist Nancy Mazou (granddaughter of Thanasis Papaioannou) and the oenologist & agronomist Stefano Stante (born & studied in Portugal), with the contribution -in an advisory role- of the Italian Alessandro Belloto. The first syllable of the name Milia comes from the word "familia", which of course means family and sounds almost the same in all three languages of the team's heritage: Greek, Italian and Portuguese. The second part of his name, Riza, represents exactly these roots. A root will always symbolize a new beginning, a new life, something new.
In the glass there is a pale straw colour, with silver hues and a thin and persistent cord of bubbles. The Azzarda Blanc de Noir from Agiorgitiko reveals on the nose fresh aromas of small red berries, toasted bread and white flowers. On the palette it is crisp, in excellent harmony with an impressive acidity and the long, round and slightly tannic aftertaste.
