Moropoulos Winery 72 Mantinia 2021
"72" is a distinct expression of Moschofilero from a single vineyard planted in 1972, serving as a testament to Moropoulos Estate’s focus on quality and the unique identity of the Mantinia terroir.
A portion of the wine has been aged in clay amphorae, another in acacia barrels, and the remainder in stainless steel tanks. This approach results in a Mantinia with complex character, intense aromas, and a balance that stems from a vineyard with a truly singular identity.
In the glass, it displays a lemon color with grey highlights. The nose reveals clean floral aromas of orange blossom and jasmine, framed by fresh lemon and grapefruit. These are complemented by subtle nuances of white-fleshed peach and pear, followed by herbal notes and finished with mineral hints. On the palate, the body is medium+, featuring crisp acidity and a long, persistent finish.
