Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky
Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky
The Japanese art that goes by the name Nikka Whiskey is the "child" of Masataka Taketsuru, the first man to create Japanese whiskey. With a long history of distilling Scottish malt, in 1933 he opened his own distillery in order to create his own premium Japanese whiskey. A Japanese grain whiskey, which is distilled mainly from corn in a continuous distiller (Coffey still). The ripe sweet notes of dried fruit, given by the barrel, in combination with the soft texture and the tropical fruits create a premium aged whiskey ideal to drink plain. At Miyagijyo Distillery, the two great Coffey distillers help to create soft whiskeys with strong fruit notes.
