Estate Kir Yianni Roditis Orange 2023

This experimental Roditis Orange wine from Ktima Kyr-Yianni redefines the variety through the art of prolonged skin contact.

The grapes are hand-sorted and then undergo a red wine vinification process in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by a two-day cold soak at 10°C, which reveals the aromatic depths of the variety. A gradual increase in temperature (17–20°C) then enhances the wine's complexity. The wine is separated from the skins towards the end of fermentation and remains in tanks on its lees for three months. Finally, it is aged for nine months in 3rd and 4th use French oak barrels with gentle, continuous bâtonnage.

The result is an expressive, multi-layered wine with soft tannins, a spicy character, and an unexpected freshness.
