Giovanni Sordo Barolo DOCG 2020

Sordo's Barolo comes from vineyards located in Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba, Monforte d'Alba, La Morra, Verduno, and Grinzane Cavour, within the heart of the Barolo DOCG.
It is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, which are entirely harvested and selected by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with a maceration period of 4-6 weeks in contact with the skins, depending on the vintage. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, then for 4-6 months in steel tanks, and finally for another 6 months in the bottle before release to the market.
Visually, it presents a garnet red color with orange reflections that intensify with age. The nose opens with ethereal and delicate aromas of flowers and red fruits, licorice, and anise, followed by notes of cedar, herbs, spices, and hints of minerality. On the palate, it is refined and harmonious, with sweet and complex tannins leading to a long, enjoyable finish.
