Ktima Kir Yianni Diaporos Aged Wine Distillate 500ml

DIAPOROS is a study and discovery of the potential of the Xinomavro variety. The grapes originate from Block #5 of the Naoussa Estate, which stands out for its unique morphology and location, ranking among the highest quality blocks for this variety. The discreet contribution of Syrah comes from the Estate’s oldest vines in Naoussa, distinguished by their exceptional quality characteristics.

The aged wine spirit "DIAPOROS" was born out of the winemaking philosophy and expertise of the people at the Kir-Yianni Estate. It follows a process that begins in the vineyard, moves through vinification, and culminates in distillation and aging—a natural continuation of the journey of a great wine.

Upon completion of the winemaking process, the majority of the wine is bottled, while a small percentage is reserved for the production of the "DIAPOROS" aged wine spirit. Distillation takes place in copper alembic stills with a capacity of 1,000 liters.

The "heart" of the distillate is transferred to French oak barrels, specifically designed for spirits, where it matures for an extended period. The selection of these barrels allows for a gentle extraction of wood elements, preserving the character of the spirit while highlighting its aromatic purity.
