Scotch malt whiskey, eccentrically named Sheep Dip, dates back to the time when British farmers placed home-made whiskey in barrels labeled "Sheep Dip" (sheep disinfectant) to avoid paying taxes. It is the result of mixing 16 different malts, which age for 8 to 20 years and come from different parts of Scotland, each adding its own unique characteristics to the product.
