UWC Samos Primordial Soils 2020
UWC Samos, wanting to honor an emblematic viticulturist of the island every year, created the series of wines Primordial Soils. For the 2020 vintage, the honored viticulturist is Ioannis Sofoulis and the selection of the grapes was made exclusively by the vineyard owned by him, with manual harvesting in the early morning hours. Its vineyard has a northern exposure, is located at a high altitude, with acidic soils of medium composition, poor, deep, gravelly and shale. The wine matures for 12 months in oval tanks and is bottled unfiltered.
The color we find in our glass is light orange. On the nose the aromas are very clear and refer to ripe apricots, roasted almonds, caramel, citrus peels, with notes of nuts and honeycomb to follow. In the mouth it is rich, with a beautiful feeling of oiliness, slightly tannic, with a pleasant acidity and extremely long aftertaste.
