Rhum J.M.

J.M. is an "agricultural" rum produced since 1845 at Macouba, in the north-east of the island of Martinique (France), between the Roches and the Macouba rivers, at the foot of Mount Pelee. The distillery is set in the midst of 300 hectares of the Fonds-Préville area which was inhabited in 1790. The distillery J.M. was founded in 1845 by Jean-Marie Martin, who gave it his initials. In 1914, Gustave Crassous of Médeuil bought the distillery from the family of Jean-Marie Martin. Since then, the heirs of Crassous Médeuil are engaged in the production of J.M.
