Volacus Winery Mavrotragano 2019

Volacus winery is a family affair of Michalis Kontizas and his wife Irene. Experimenting with the local varieties of Tinos was his main goal when he bought a piece of land in Phalatados, scattered with round, granite volumes (in Tinos they are called volakes).
The special energy of an undoubtedly unique terroir and the multidimensional personality of the variety compose an impressive result. The fermentation was done with native doughs, the wine matured in French oak barrels for 24 months and was bottled unfiltered in just 400 bottles.
On the face we find a dark purple color. On the nose we find aromas of black fruit, leather, tobacco, spicy spices, with notes of cocoa and cedar to follow. The palate is rich, with a pleasant acidity, round, well-integrated tannins, with a long pleasant aftertaste.
