In 1905, the grandfather George Vassiliou , born - and bred in the area of Mesogeia in Attica, creatds his own vineyards to make wine. His son Panagiotis Vassiliou, second winemaking generation, continues the tradition of the family. After completing his studies at the University of Dijon, France, oenologist George Vassiliou takes over the family business in order to create a bottled wine in which, a century of family experience and passion will align with European know-how. The constant quest for Greek varieties brought George Vassiliou at Nemea, one of the P.D.O. (Protected Designation of Origin) zones and perhaps the most important wine region of Greece. There, he created Nemeion Estate, which borrowed its name from ancient Nemea, and it is a state of the art winery at the heart of modern Nemea, and the unique isobaric (all vinification processes follow the law of gravity) the winery in Greece.
