Kos was known in antiquity for the "melantanon" wine, as it was called. Today the revival of the long vinification tradition of the island gradually evolves, as the vineyards are planted with the Greek varieties Athiri, Assyrtiko, Malagouzia and the international ones: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Grenache Rouge, Syrah, Tempranillo.
