Both of producer's Stelios Kechris Retsinas conquered one more important distinction. The retsina called “The Pine's Tear” or "Tear of the Pine" in direct translation was awarded the gold medal at the official French contest “Vinalies Internationals 2014”. This retsina was awarded its very first gold medal. In the same competition the “ Kechribari” retsina by the same producer, was awarded the silver medal. In total these two retsinas have been awarded with the silver medal four more times by the same institution.

 

The “Vinalies Internationals" event is very important as it is the official French OIV (Organization International du Vin) contest and the fact that retsina was awarded proves to classical wine status quo, the Greek retsina's quality features.  At the same time, 2013's account, ended impressively for both of the estate's retsinas. “Kechribari” received 17 and “The Pine's Tear” or "Tear of the Pine" in direct translation 26 distinctions in international competitions, highlighting the retsina in major world competitions.

 

The Kechribari 2013:

  • For the third year in a row, in one of the biggest competitions in the world: “Decanter World Wine Awards” held in London was awarded the silver medal.
  • In the “International Wine challenge” 2013 held in London , it received the bronze medal.
  • On the official “Mundus Vini” competition it was awarded a silver medal.

The “The Pine's Tear” 2013:

  • Gold Medal in the “Mundus Vini”. A contest that awarded two retsinas for the very first time in its history.
  • Also it was awarded with the additional distinction of “Best White Greek Wine for 2013” by “Mundus Vini”.
  • Gold medal at the “Decanter World Wine Awards” for the first time in its history as well as in retsina history.
  • It climbed into the 1,5 % of the world's wine firmament, according to the “Decanter” contest as well as a
  • Silver Medal in the “Vinalies Internationals 2013” in Paris  for the second year in a row.
