The Top Decanter Awards for Greek Wine
Available via Greece and Grapes!

This year’s Decanter World Wine Awards’ harvest for Greek wine has been absolutely impressive, including 1 Platinum-Best in Show, 1 Platinum and 12 Golds!

Among them, Ktima Biblia Chora Ovilos White 2018, Pangaion was honored with the Platinum - Best in Show award. This is the gem in DWWA crown and an award given in 2019 to only 50 wines among 16.500 in total.

We in Greece and Grapes managed to get our hands on most of them and we offer them to you, in limited quantity!

The wines, with a short description from Decanter.com:

Platinum - Best in Show

97/100 Ktima Biblia Chora Ovilos White 2018, Pangeon | 19.90€

“...The aim here is clearly to make a subtle, creamy, full-textured white wine for fine dining and the challenge has been well met in this wine
which we came to nickname, as we tasted and re-tasted it, the "Greek Graves". Look out for subtle scents of soft citrus, beaten cream
and courgette, and a generously textured and contoured flavour which combines citrus and vegetal notes in that same alluring style...”

Platinum

97/100 Domaine Gerovassiliou White 2018, Epanomi | 12.10€

“Profound, with purity and elegance. Aromatics of grass and herbs, with ripe white stone fruit. Beautiful core of Meyer
lemon, white pepper and dried oregano, and a long finish. Excellent.”

Gold

95/100 Artemis Karamolegos Winery Pyritis 2017, Santorini | 35.70€

“Sweet herbs and candied lemon notes, with a palate of juicy fruit, white plums and apples. Aromatic
freshness and complexity, with a very fine aftertaste. Super.”

95/100 Estate Argyros Vinsanto 12 Years Barrel Aged 2003, Santorini | 87.90€

“Exuberant and pure, layered with complexity and grace. Notes of coffee beans, jammy fig and dried apricot. Creamy
fruit and sweetness are lifted by its minerality.”

96/100 Ktima Biblia Chora Sole Semillon-Traminer 2017, Pangeon | 14.80€

“Pure nose of lychee, rose petals and orange zest. Luscious texture and deep flavours of overripe pineapple and
banana with long, bright lychee finish. Exceptional.”

95/100 Ktima Gerovassiliou Single Vineyard Malagousia 2018, Epanomi | 11.95€

“Ripe nose of peaches and pineapple, with sweet yams and an almost buttery richness. Peach and apricot flavours, layered
with honeysuckle and acacia and a long, saline finish. Excellent.”

95/100 Monemvasia Winery Malvasia Vin Liastos 2012, Monemvasia | 50.20€

“Dense nose of roasted coffee beans and salted caramel. Textured palate with exuberant fruits complemented
with toasted hazelnuts and a long, complex finish. Top class.”
