One of the ratings that we mention for our web site products is Wine Systems AG based on PAR methodology (Product, Analysis and Rating). The reason is that it is totally different than any other rating since it is based on a big list of characteristics and documentation which, according to its supporters, make it more transparent and fair.

The critic knows everything about the wine/product that he/she is about to taste (which differs from evaluations based on a critic's reputation or completely blind tastings that may compare different things). The more the critic knows, the more help he/she has during the analysis stage. The analysis is considered a systematic analysis using all of the professional taster's senses (sight, smell, taste). Based on this, an extensive list of characteristics is quantitatively rated (Rating stage). The total awarded score is based on the combined characteristics individual assessments.

In this way, according to the supporters of the methodology, the critic avoids subjective preferences, there exists analytical documentation on which the final rating is based upon and thereby gives the opportunity to the wine producer to understand which characteristics can be improved.

The truth is that this methodology is not as widespread in Greece and the Greek wineries that participate are for the moment relatively limited. 2017 ratings for the wineries from Greece that participated in the contest are as follows:
