Christos Aivalis is located at Petri Nemea since 1997 and the last years is supported by his son Sotiris that studied in Burgundy. His aim is to produce wines with a character from vineyards of small yields per hectare. Wines are not stabilized nor filtered.
The emphasis is obviously on Agiorgitiko creating wines with high concentration, fruit maturity and often tight tannic structure. The simple Nemea is charming, Monopati is as “thick” that you may cut with the knife, while Tessera (4) gives generous thrills. Together with his son, he tries new things with the wines Le sang de la Pierre, another expression of Agiorgitiko, but also with the blend of Deux Dieux.
