natural wines of Sant’Or Winery!
The wines of Sant'Or Winery are among our new additions here in Greece and Grapes. We are thrilled to welcome these singular wines
that try to express terroir with honesty and authenticity. These are wines that may speak of a quiet voice but make
a strong statement.
The winery is located in the historical village of Santameri, Achaia, at an altitudeof 600 meters. Panagiotis Dimitropoulos, coming from
a family with three generations in wine production, cultivates the Santameriana (Asprouda Patron), Mavrodaphne, Roditi Alepou and Agiorgitiko
varieties. The vineyards are certified organic and the wines are vegan. The interventions both in the vineyards andcellar are done
according to the biodynamic calendar while the biodynamic certification is in progress.
Yannis Karakasis MW comments:
"Sant'Or wines are among the most fascinating efforts I have tasted lately. The approach is as natural as possible, with spontaneous fermentation
and very few sulphites added. For those who want to know the figure, this is less than 40 mg / lt total added in two doses.
The wines are bottled unfiltered and are vinified by one of the best Greek oenologists, Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos of Tetramythos.
Their prices are also very attractive, starting just over 7 euros."
