Cyprus in the spotlight
Amazing Xynisteris and Maratheftiko, from Greece and Grapes!

In a recent article in The Master's Voice column, Yannis Karakasis MW
refers to the rising
potential of Cypriot wine and the enthusiasm

that surrounds the island’s indigenous varieties,

such as Xynisteri and Maratheftiko.

He notes that "The new trends worldwide favor indigenous varieties,
and the quality of Cypriot wines is constantly improving (Gold in the
Decanter for Xynisteri and Promara in 2016 and 2017), together with the
remarkable group of Cypriot Sommeliers and the millions of tourists who
visit the island, it seems that the future is on their side.
''.
